Library of Congress dignitary visits Cass County historical display

Library of Congress Trustee, Donald Hall, discusses the new “Stern Visitation of War in Cass County” exhibit with Carol Bohl, former Cass County Historical Society director.

Donald Scott, Deputy Librarian of Congress Emeritus and Library of Congress Trustee, attended the unveiling of the new Stern Visitations of War in Cass County exhibit unveiling in Harrisonville. Scott is a retired Brig. General with the United States Army and is also on the board of Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area which cosponsored the project with Cass County Historical Society and the library.

“The Cass County Civil War exhibit meets the high standards as those the Library of Congress accepts for display,” Donald Scott commented on the display in Cass County.

The exhibit, which includes 18 banners with smart phone-scannable codes that link to additional online in-depth and interactive content, is currently on display in the Harrisonville library. It will tour to various locations in the county and to the rotunda of the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City.
