Notary Service
Cass County Public Library offers notary services at no charge throughout the county. A notary public acts as an impartial third-party witness to the signature of a document, and that all parties who signed a document did so willingly and under their own free will.
Please bring a government-issued photo ID (ex. valid state driver’s or non-driver’s license, valid U.S. Passport, valid military ID) when you visit, and library staff can help you.
Examples of documents that may require notarization are wills, trusts, absentee or mail-in ballots, deeds, trusts, contracts, powers of attorney, and affidavits.
Not all staff are licensed notaries public, and notary services are not available during all operating hours. To ensure that a notary is available, please call ahead to your branch. Notary Services are provided at the discretion of the notary and may vary branch-to-branch.
