Bookmobile Driver (Part-Time) – Bookmobile
Bookmobile Driver Library Assistant. 20 hours per week, including some evening and weekend hours. $14.50/hr. This position performs various duties as assigned in the operation of the Bookmobile, including providing quality customer service, performing circulation duties, and making decisions on how best to assist library users at multiple stops throughout Cass County. Job duties involve responsibility for a variety of circulation procedures, including checking items in and out for library patrons, handling fees accurately, maintaining patron records, registering new patrons, shelving items, locating items for patrons, assisting visitors on computers and other devices, and answering general reference questions. This position requires working with patrons in a positive, competent, and courteous manner and maintaining patron confidentiality at all times. The work requires that the employee have good knowledge, skill, and ability in every phase of library circulation functions. This position requires the ability to prepare and drive a large vehicle and to perform basic inspection and maintenance of the vehicle to ensure safety and proper operation. A two-year degree from a recognized college in library technology or a related field plus some library technical experience, OR, an equivalent combination of specific library-related workshops and training or related education and experience required. Employment of Relatives

No person shall be employed at Cass County Public Library who is related, within the third degree, by blood or marriage to the Library Director, Assistant Director, Business Manager, or Human Resources employees. No person shall be employed for a position that is under the direct supervision of a relative.

An employee’s immediate family may not be hired if it would create a supervisor/subordinate relationship with a family member, have the potential for creating an adverse impact on work performance, or create either an actual conflict of interest or the appearance of a conflict of interest. Immediate family includes any individual related within the third degree, by blood or marriage.

In compliance with Missouri Law (182.050), no person who is related within the third degree by blood or by marriage to any trustee of the board shall be employed by Cass County Public Library. Library Trustees are not eligible for consideration as a prospective employee until one year beyond their date of last service.
