Public Relations & Marketing Coordinator – Cass County Public Library Administration
Cass County Public Library is looking for an energetic individual to promote community awareness of library services through a variety of channels, including social media, press releases, online updates, reporting, communication with local media outlets, and more. Working under the supervision of the Library Director, this position implements and evaluates the library’s marketing plan and brand style guide, while providing resources for branch staff to create their own promotional materials within those guidelines.

This position is responsible for developing library publications, creating promotional and informational materials for events and library services, managing the library’s social media accounts, and communicating with local media outlets, as necessary. This position also serves as the webmaster for library websites. This position provides a positive, professional attitude and interacts with other employees in a friendly, courteous and respectful manner. This position also participates in and actively supports library, departmental, and consortium goals and objectives.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field or substantial progress towards completing Bachelor’s Degree and continuous enrollment in pursuit of degree. Technical Services Coordinator – Cass County Public Library Administration
Working under the supervision of the Library Director, this position is responsible for the supervision and coordination of the technical services department, including cataloging, processing of incoming books and media, inter-library loan, and consortium courier delivery. This position is also responsible for the selection of adult print, adult media, and adult and youth electronic materials for the library system. This position participates in collection management including weeding, materials preservation and repair, and donation sorting. This position actively works with other administrative staff in troubleshooting and analyzing the best choices for relevant software, new media formats, and alternative solutions to current workflows.

This position supervises full-time and part-time Technical Services staff performing assigned tasks. This position provides a positive, professional attitude and interacts with other employees in a friendly, courteous and respectful manner. Requirements include a Master of Library Science degree and 3 years supervisory experience in libraries or a related field plus some library technical experience, OR, an equivalent combination of specific library training or related education and experience. Full job description here.

Bookmobile Driver (Part-Time) – Bookmobile
Bookmobile Driver Library Assistant. 20 hours per week, including some evening and weekend hours. $14.50/hr. This position performs various duties as assigned in the operation of the Bookmobile, including providing quality customer service, performing circulation duties, and making decisions on how best to assist library users at multiple stops throughout Cass County. Job duties involve responsibility for a variety of circulation procedures, including checking items in and out for library patrons, handling fees accurately, maintaining patron records, registering new patrons, shelving items, locating items for patrons, assisting visitors on computers and other devices, and answering general reference questions. This position requires working with patrons in a positive, competent, and courteous manner and maintaining patron confidentiality at all times. The work requires that the employee have good knowledge, skill, and ability in every phase of library circulation functions. This position requires the ability to prepare and drive a large vehicle and to perform basic inspection and maintenance of the vehicle to ensure safety and proper operation. A two-year degree from a recognized college in library technology or a related field plus some library technical experience, OR, an equivalent combination of specific library-related workshops and training or related education and experience required. Requirements include excellent customer service skills, computer literacy, self-starter who is ready to learn, and basic knowledge of libraries. Job duties include checking items in and out for library patrons, shelving items, locating items for patrons, assisting visitors on computers and other devices, and answering general reference questions.
