All Library Branches Closed Through April 5th

UPDATE: To support the Stay-At-Home Orders of the Kansas City metro and Cass County, all Cass County Public Library locations will remain closed through April 26th. Read more.

In an effort to be proactive in protecting the health and safety of our patrons, staff, and community during the COVID-19 outbreak, all Cass County Public Library branches will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 17th through Sunday, April 5th. This includes all classes, activities, meeting and study room usages, and outreach services.

This was a difficult decision. However, as we reviewed the information from federal, state, and local public health officials, we are opting to close temporarily out of an abundance of caution.

During this time, we ask that you do not return your library materials.

All due dates have been extended through April 15. Your items will not be overdue, nor will you be billed.

As always, our collection of digital books and audiobooks are available 24/7 at casscolibrary.org/ebooks and via your Overdrive and/or Libby app(s). We hope you’ll take advantage of these rich resources in the days ahead. From home, you can access:

Again, we are deeply aware of the vital role that libraries play in the community, especially in difficult times, and so the decision to close, even temporarily, was not reached lightly. We appreciate the support of our customers and our community during this challenging time and we look forward to opening our doors again just as soon as we are able.

If you would like more information about COVID-19 and how to stay safe, we have put together some resources for you.

Feel free to contact us also with any questions.
