Imagine Your Story at Your Library This Summer!

Our annual Summer Reading Program starts TODAY! This year’s theme is Imagine Your Story. This year’s program will be different than in previous years. With social distancing and occupancy limits, we will not be hosting in-person events. However, we will provide some virtual events throughout the summer.

This year, patrons can register and track their progress online through Beanstack, an immersive app that allows participants to earn badges throughout the summer, in addition to track books or minutes read.

All participants have until August 1st to complete the summer reading program.

Children & Teens

Children and teens read or listen to books to earn a free new book of their choice, along with other prizes at each branch. Prizes can be picked up when we reopen.

  • Pre-Readers will earn their book once they have had 25 books read to them or have 500 minutes of being read to.
  • Readers will earn their book by reading 10 books or completing 500 minutes of reading. This program is open to those up to 5th Grade.
  • Teens will earn their book by reading 5 books or completing 500 minutes of reading.

Back by popular demand, BONUS PLAY will allow for participants to earn entries into county-wide drawings at the end of the summer. For each additional 100 minutes of reading, children and teens can earn chances to win Worlds of Fun tickets, terrariums, gift cards, and more! Children and teens can complete up to 5 bonus play tickets.

Adults, don’t let the kids have all the fun. Participate in the adult program, and you can earn entries into your branch’s prize drawing. After reading or listening to 3 books, you will receive your first entry. After that, you can earn an additional entry for each book you read or listen to.
