Cass County Public Library Foundation, Friends of Library Host Used Book Sale

Cass County Public Library Foundation and Friends of the Library are happy to announce its Used Book Sale event from November 9th through 11th at the North Cass Shopping Center in Belton, 1815 E North Avenue. (Note: This event has since passed and donations are no longer being accepted.)

This three-day event will begin on Thursday, November 9th from 5-8 PM with a “Friends” Only event requiring a $25 admission/membership fee as a Friend of the Cass County Public Library. Friends of the Library members will receive first choice of books. 

On Friday, November 10th the book sale will run from 10 AM to 6 PM for the public, no admission fee will be required. Saturday, November 11th from 9 AM to 12 PM books will be half-priced. From 12-1 PM, the public can fill a sack for just $7. Teachers can fill a bag for free from 9 AM to 12 PM. 

Proceeds from the book sale are used for summer reading program activities and grants to branches for programming and items not regularly included in the library budget.

From October 25th through November 3rd, the Foundation will accept donations at any local Cass County Public Library branch. The following is a list of items that will be accepted:

  • Books: hardback, paperback, children’s and teen books, cookbooks, travel books, non-fiction, and fiction
  • Board games: must have all pieces
  • Puzzles: must have all pieces
  • DVD movies
  • CDs
  • LPs

Large quantities of items to be donated should be brought to the sale site (1815 E North Avenue) starting on November 6th. Below are drop-off days and times:

Monday, November 6th, 10 AM – 3 PM

Tuesday, November 7th, 2 – 6 PM

Wednesday, November 8th, 11 AM – 4 PM

Thursday, November 9th, 9 AM – 12 PM
