Storywalks®

Join us this summer for outdoor fun that combines exercise and reading! Thanks to a generous donation from Peculiar Charitable Foundation, we will host two temporary Storywalks® that will travel around the county during June and July. The featured title is: Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? by Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle. Plus, visiting a Storywalk® this summer will earn you an extra ticket for Summer Reading prizes! Keep track of your reading through the Beanstack app to unlock this exclusive activity badge.

Check the schedule below to see when each title will be in your area!

What is a Storywalk?

“A StoryWalk® combines the pleasures of reading wonderful children’s books aloud with all the joys and benefits of walking together outdoors. This fun, educational activity places the pages from a children’s story along a popular walking route in your community.” (Boston Children’s Museum, 2021)

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
