Randy Miller, library board member since 1999, resigns

Randy Miller, an economic development director and farmer from Pleasant Hill, recently resigned from the library board after 17 years of service to the library and the community.

At the time of his resignation, Mr. Miller was the board’s Vice President and it’s longest serving member. He was first appointed to the board by the Cass County Commission in 1999.

In that time, he oversaw the modernization of Cass County Public Library. He was the driving force behind establishing a new direction for the library that prioritized improving the library’s technology infrastructure and emphasized outreach to all parts of the county and for equitably distributing library resources. He oversaw the creation of the Northern Resource Center to serve a growing and changing part of the county. And he spearheaded the addition of the Bookmobile service which continues to deliver library services to the far corners of the county.

Randy Miller’s voice and steady leadership will be missed on the board.

We, the staff of the library, wish him well in retirement and thank him for his service.
