Part-Time Library Courier
Hours: PT Flex; average 18 hours per week, with additional hours up to 30 per week as needed to provide coverage , Monday – Friday
Location: Cass County Public Library – Admin Office – Harrisonville, Mo
Pay: $16.00 hr
Position Overview:
Cass County Public Library is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual to join our
team as a Library Courier. This position involves driving a delivery van to ensure the prompt and accurate delivery of library materials, mail, and supplies. The role also includes overseeing basic vehicle maintenance and assisting with tasks that support our library operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a delivery van following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load, unload, and transport library materials, mail, and equipment to branches and other
- locations.
- Maintain the delivery van, ensuring it is clean, fueled, and in good working condition.
- Perform light maintenance tasks and assist with clearing snow or debris from library
- property when needed.
- Maintain accurate logs and records related to deliveries and van maintenance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 50 lbs. and push carts up to 100 lbs.
- Valid Missouri driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of safe driving practices and ability to manage vehicle emergencies.
- Ability to work independently and follow a set schedule.

Facilities Specialist (Part-Time)
Cass County Public Library
Cass County Public Library is seeking a reliable and skilled Facilities Specialist to join our support team. This position plays a key role in maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming library spaces, both inside and out, across multiple locations.
Status: Part-time; Non-exempt
Hours: Up to 30 hours per week. Scheduled hours may vary based on operational needs.
Pay: $18.25 per hour
Location: Harrisonville with travel to other branches
Benefits: Paid time off
Work Setting: In-person
Reports to: Facilities Coordinator
Position Overview
The Facilities Specialist is responsible for the repair and maintenance of building fixtures, furnishings, and exterior grounds. This includes a wide range of tasks such as general maintenance, preventative repairs, and seasonal grounds and landscape care to ensure attractive, well-maintained library properties. This position requires travel between library branches and is considered safety-sensitive.
During the spring and summer months, this role places increased emphasis on grounds and landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and general outdoor upkeep.
Examples of Responsibilities Include:
- Perform general facility maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and minor HVAC repairs
- Respond to maintenance requests and complete preventative and corrective work orders
- Maintain library grounds, including mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, and seasonal landscape care
- Perform routine plant care, including watering, pruning, and maintaining landscape beds
- Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other tools
- Perform snow removal and ice mitigation as needed
- Support facility improvement projects and coordinate with vendors when needed
- Deliver supplies between library branches
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or a related field preferred
- Experience operating lawn equipment and performing grounds or landscaping work preferred
- HVAC experience a plus
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must meet Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) requirements
- Ability to pass a background check
