Harrisonville, MO (June 18, 2025) –

At its regularly scheduled June board meeting, the Cass County Public Library Board of Trustees was presented with an updated projected cost for the new building that will house both the Harrisonville Branch and the library’s administrative offices. After reviewing the current design and cost projections, the Board voted to approve the developments completed up to this point, officially moving the project into its next phase.

Representatives from Navigate Building Solutions and Clark & Enersen present to the CCPL Board of Trustees at the June 18, 2025 meeting.

This approval marks a significant milestone in the library’s long-term capital improvement plan, which aims to enhance public service, staff efficiency, and accessibility for the growing community.

At its May meeting, the Board was presented with a site plan by Navigate Building Solutions and Clark & Enersen Kansas City. A schematic design and exterior building mock-up were previewed at the June meeting. Together, the presentations allowed the Board to assess how the new building will meet operational needs and community expectations for a modern library, while confirming that updated cost projections remain consistent with the project’s original estimates.

“Our communities deserve better libraries, easier to access libraries, modern libraries,” said Becky Klein, board secretary. “I think we are going down the right path.”

The new building will consolidate administrative services and branch operations under one roof, offering cost efficiencies and operational synergy while creating a welcoming and functional space for patrons and staff alike.

“There is a lot of space and I think we are maximizing it in the best way possible,” CCPL Director Robin Hudson, said.
