AWE Early Literacy Stations Coming to Cass County Public Library

Harrisonville, MO (December 31, 2024) – Cass County Public Library is excited to add AWE Early Literacy Stations to all its physical branches in the new year thanks to the Technology Mini-Grant through funds from the Library Services and Technology Act appropriated by Missouri Congress.

These internet-free touch-screen computers include child-friendly keyboards, a child-sized mouse, and headphones, allowing children to learn about language, math, and science in an interactive, educational, and safe way.

“We’re inviting young learners to explore a world of fun and learning with our new AWE Early Literacy Stations,” Scott Page, CCPL Youth Services Coordinator said. “These interactive tools offer a variety of educational activities that will help children build literacy skills and spark a love of reading.

As a recipient of the Technology Mini-Grant for 2025, Cass County Public Library can continue strengthening its service to the county’s growing population through technology. This project will last until May 15, 2025, with Cass County Public Library providing a report of the AWE Early Literacy Stations’ effect on the library and patrons to the Secretary of State no later than June 15, 2025.

Our intent with these new AWE Early Literacy Stations is to inspire a love of learning and provide young children with the tools they need to grow and succeed, which aligns with our mission to provide educational and enrichment resources to the community,” Robin Hudson, CCPL Director said.

This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
