Notification Procedures and Collections
Courtesy notices: Courtesy notices are sent (by email only) to inform you that items you currently have checked out will be due soon.  If you do not prefer to receive courtesy notices, speak with a library employee or let us know using Ask a Librarian.
Overdue notices: Overdue notices are sent out seven days after the due date if the item(s) remain unreturned.
Assumed lost notices: Assumed lost notifications are sent out 21 days after the due date if the item(s) remained unreturned.  This means that material overdue longer than three weeks will be considered lost by the circulation system.  Replacement cost for the material will be added to the account.  An additional processing fee of $5.00 will be added to the account.
Replacement costs are waived for returned materials.
Collections: Failure to return the material or pay the amount due on items that are 42 days (6 weeks) overdue may result in the account being sent to Unique Management Services, Inc. for collections.  An additional service fee of $10.00 will be added to the patron's account.
Refunds: The library will refund replacement costs for returned materials with a receipt for up to three months after the date charged.
