Throughout November, patrons may bring any non-perishable food items, that are not expired or damaged, to any Cass County Public Library branch. Each item counts as $2.00 toward overdue fines.

The Garden City library and the University of Missouri Cass County Extension Center will be offering a new program geared towards middle school children. It is called Kids in the Kitchen. This is a hands-on cooking experience that encourages youth to eat healthier meals and snacks. Youth will learn how to prepare simple, healthy foods that they can make for themselves and other family members at home. They will also learn good food safety practices with each lesson.
