Placing Holds

If you can’t find what you’re looking for on the shelf, place a hold.

Use the online catalog: From our online catalog, search for the item(s) you want. From the search results, you can click on the blue Place Hold button to the right of the item you want.

After clicking place hold, enter your library card number and PIN as shown below unless you are already logged in. Your PIN is the last 4 digits of your phone number, unless you have changed it online.

Pickup location & Notification: After entering your information, you will need to choose a pickup branch and notification method on the next screen. The library will contact you by email or text messaging only. If you choose to be notified by text message, you must select your mobile carrier from the drop down menu. If you need to add an email address to your account or do not wish to receive notices at all, talk to a library employee or let us know using ask a librarian.

Choose where you want to pick up your item and how you wish to be notified and click Place Hold.

Logging in: If you know you will be placing several holds, you may choose to log in in the top right-hand corner of the catalog before you begin searching in the catalog. Enter your 14-digit library card number and 4-digit PIN. Your PIN should be the last 4 digits of your phone number. If you are having trouble, call the library or ask a librarian, to reset your PIN.
