Pleasant Hill residents: meet your new librarian!
Hi. My name is Jane Mulvihill-Jones and I am the new Branch Manager of the Pleasant Hill Branch of the Cass County Public Library System. I am very excited to be a part of the Pleasant Hill community and the Cass County Public Library.
I am originally from Perry, KS which is a small town in Eastern Kansas. I grew up on a farm. I graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.A. in History. I earned my Master’s Degree in Library Science from Indiana University. I have worked at a variety of libraries in Ohio, Texas and Colorado before returning to the Kansas City area.
I have experience in school libraries as well as many years with the Kansas City Public Library as both a Reference and Collection Development Librarian. Prior to my starting at the Pleasant Hill Branch in February, I was a Reference and Instruction Librarian at Metropolitan Community College – Longview Campus.
I live in the Waldo area of Kansas City where my family is involved with the St. Elizabeth Church and School. I am married with three daughters: two in high school and one in grade school. I have two dogs that love to snuggle. Some of my favorite television shows are Major Crimes, Modern Family and Downton Abbey. I am currently listening to A Darkness More Than Night by Michael Connelly and reading The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd. I love traveling, all things Disney, reading mysteries and historical fiction, going to the movies, watching sports and spending time with my family.
I look forward to getting to know Pleasant Hill and our library patrons.
Welcome to Cass County Jane! We’re so glad to have you working at the Pleasant Hill branch.
