Coming this Summer to a library near you: Dig Into Reading

The branch managers and children’s librarians met yesterday to plot and share plans for Summer Reading Program.

All Cass County Library Branches are busy preparing for our Summer Reading Program. This year’s theme is Dig Into Reading, and runs from June 3 to July 13.

The Archie library has some great programs lined up:

  • Cowgirl Kate the Clown is coming to kick off our summer reading and do creative balloon art twisting. Cowgirl Kate is well known in the area, as she regularly appears at the Harrisonville Price Chopper. This will be a fun time for one and all.
  • Animal Wonders from Holden, Missouri, will be at the library to present a fun, educational, interactive program for all ages. They bring animals with them, so I’m sure it will there will be some interesting creatures for us to see and learn about.
  • Missouri Department of Conservation agent, Josh Shadwick will present a Mystery Box program. Be sure to come and see what is in the box!
  • Magician, Eric Vaughn, does magic in a wacky, comedic style keeps his audiences laughing and scratching their heads at the same time. Be sure to join us for this entertaining event.
  • The Buck Family Players are from Drexel. They will present their original play entitled Adventure in Time. If you saw their play last year, you know you are in for a treat.
  • Babaloo! Yes, we welcome the return of Babaloo, “A One Man Musical Comedy Act for Kids”! He will get us all up and moving and having a really good time! (Babaloo will be performing at all the Branches ending events, so be sure to sign up for the Summer Reading Program at your local Branch to find out how you can attend this event.)

Other events during Summer Reading will be Story Times and Miss Rhonda from the University of Missouri Extension Office for Cass County will present an interactive nutrition programs.

Information with dates and times for these programs will be available at the Archie Branch Library and distributed at the school at a later date in May. For information about the Summer Reading Program at other Cass County Library Branches, please contact your Branch.

We look forward to seeing you this summer at the library!
