Holiday Hours for New Year’s Eve: 9am – 1pm

For New Years Eve (Wed, Dec 31, 2014) all locations of the library will close early at 1:00pm to celebrate the new year. The Bookmobile will be open 10:00am – 12:00pm at the Dollar General Store in Peculiar.

All locations of the library will be closed for New Years Day (Thur, Jan 1, 2015).

Poetic Voices 2014

All teen poets (12-18) are invited to submit an original poem to the teen poetry contest at their local branch. Teen poets who write the top four poems at each branch will be invited to present their poem in the oral 2014 Poetic Voices competition held Thursday, November 13, 6:30pm at the Harrisonville Branch, 400 E Mechanic, Harrisonville, MO.

Teen Lyricist Cafe today

Today, the Harrisonville library is hosting Teen Lyricist Cafe. This event will be a creative and informational workshop available to young artists wanting to learn the craft or work to further their talents. An overview of lyrics and poetry will be explored as well as examples of good lyrics with their musical counterparts. A discussion of what constitutes good or bad lyrics will be encouraged as well. After this we will work on constructive lyric writing with music for inspiration and coffee paired with snacks for fuel. We invite all budding writers and musicians to join us in what promises to be an eventful time.

The birds are back and they are angrier than ever! On June 3 at 6:30 p.m. you can play Live Angry Birds: Level II at the Harrisonville library. We have all new targets and have ramped it up a level to challenge your skills. There will be snacks to eat to keep your energy level strong.
