“Blockbuster” books for Fall 2013

Fall is usually a great time for brand new books and 2013 is no exception. Here are a few anticipated titles, including some new installments from some beloved series and a couple of long awaited sequels.

W is for Wasted, the 23rd installment of the popular Kinsey Millhone series, will be released on September 10th. We’re wondering what Sue Grafton will do when she runs out of letters!

Doctor Sleep by Stephen King, a sequel to 1977’s The Shining, comes out September 24th.

Bridget Jones: Mad about the Boy is the long awaited 3rd title in the Bridget Jones series by Helen Fielding. Fans have been waiting 14 years for this installment! Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason was released way back  in 1999. (Has it really been that long?!)

Sycamore Row from John Grisham, which releases on October 22, is a sequel to his first popular novel A Time to Kill which was published in 1989.

House of Hades by Rick Riordan is the 4th title in the wildly popular Heroes of Olympus series. We have kids at our library who are counting the days until it’s release on October 8th! (yeah, they’re a little excited!)

Allegiant is the 3rd and final installment of Veronica Roth’s Divergent trilogy and will be published on October 22nd.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book 8 by Jeff Kinney. We haven’t had a glimpse of the official cover yet but the newest title in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series is sure to be a big hit. Release date November 5th.

These are just a few of the new books coming out in the next few months. As these and other new titles make their way to your local library’s shelves please keep in mind that newly released titles are always in high demand. If you’re interested, have your librarian place your name on the hold list.
