Library Collects Winter Clothing for Veterans

Cass County Public Library is proud to partner with Good Shepherd Hospice to host a clothing drive from November 12th through December 17th. All donated items will benefit local homeless veterans.

Good Shepherd collaborates with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) through a program called We Honor Veterans, which works to improve the care veterans receive from hospice and palliative care providers. Good Shepherd Hospice provides services in 13 counties throughout Missouri. This drive is an extension of that initiative benefiting homeless veterans.

Throughout the drive, 4 Cass County Public Library branches will accept donations of new or gently used hats, scarves, gloves, and mittens in adult sizes. Those that donate are also encouraged to include a note of appreciation for the veteran’s service with the donation. After the drive has concluded, donations will be given to homeless veterans in Cass County.
