Research tools for students

The first few weeks of school have flown by. Do your students have homework that involves research?

There’s something better than Google—the databases at the Cass County Library that are provided to libraries and schools throughout Missouri.

Try Kids Search—it provides current magazine articles from “kid-friendly” magazines on many topics and includes pictures that can be printed for that report. Its dictionary can help with the spelling of words like hippopotamus. The pictorial search makes it easier to use for those students in the first few grades.

Primary Search contains full text articles from more than 80 popular elementary school magazines and is designed for upper elementary school students. Also includes pictures, maps, and flags.

Middle Search Plus is designed for middle school students with full text articles from 140 popular middle school magazines. It also contains primary source documents and an Encyclopedia of Animals.

Click on the Resources tab and then on Subscription Websites tab on the Cass County Public Library website to find accurate information for your child and yourself.
