New Mysteries Unfold in the Harrisonville Branch Mystery Book Club

When I joined the Harrisonville Branch Mystery Book Club seven years ago, I looked forward to discussing books with other readers but another benefit has been finding new authors that I enjoy.

J.A. Jance has three series which feature Joanna Brady, J.P. Beaumont, or Ali Reynolds.  Her newest book is Judgment Call with Sheriff Joanna Brady working the murder of the high school principal whose body was found by her daughter, a high school student.

China Bayles inadvertently becomes involves in murders after moving to a small, tranquil town in a series by Susan Wittig Albert.

Linda Castillo has introduced a troubled chief of police, Kate Burkholder, who returns to her Amish home town. Castillo’s books provide an interesting snapshot of Amish culture.

The Harrisonville Branch Mystery club meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 P.M. Thanks to Harrisonville Branch library assistant and club facilitator, Gayle Archer, for my discovery of these mystery authors.
