Cass County Records

Cemetery Records

In 2003, Cass County researchers Brenda Marble and Debbi Lehr finished their 4-year task of walking every cemetery in the county. Their ambitious undertaking involved piecing together pre-existing cemetery records, obituaries, funeral home records, and death certificates. Once they had finished this research, their findings were compiled and published in a ten-volume set. The CCPL Genealogy Branch was gifted a hardcopy set of these invaluable books and we have made the master index available to our patrons here. In addition to the information found on the headstones, this resource also provides marriage dates and places, parents’ and spouses’ names, causes of death, and directions to the cemetery. After locating the individual you are looking or in the Master Index, you can visit the Genealogy Branch to view the records.
